We’ve been through a lot, we certainly have
And still, I struggle to trust
But maybe we’ll put these pieces together
And mend what we can, what we must
We cut our hands putting back together
Pieces of glass, dull and weathered
And does it look perfect? Certainly not
But it is whole once again

For most my life I kept close to myself
I never shared my heart
No one had taught me how to love
Without thinking it would fall apart
I can’t promise we’ll understand one another
But I can promise we’ll learn from each other
We can’t fix what was the past
But we can now look to the future
